We have been working over the past year to move our store from the shopping center to our new spot on Main Street in Abingdon. Michelle and I have admired the historic district of our town for several years. We go to the many restaurants and stores on Main Street in our leisure time and we thought that it would be nice to find a property in the historic disctrict to set up shop. We found this property at 108 East Main Street, just below the Martha and across the street from Abingdon United Methodist Church. I can see the Barter Theatre from my front porch.
The property is a house built in 1893. We remodeled it and made it into our jewelry store with a full shop. Now you can see all of the work being done with the polishing and cleaning equipment all in on room. This allows my clients to actually see jewelry manufacturing and repair being done as opposed to my old location with most of the shop in the back rooms. Travis now has two benches and lots of new equipment in the new shop.
The showroom has all of our jewelry from our old location. The displays are more at eye level and the lighting is now brighter LED lights. I also have a nicer office to discuss custom work and diamonds with clients. There is a fireplace in the showroom and the office. We also have a wonderful deck to work with our clients outside on beautiful afternoons. We still carry a large selection of engagement rings and wedding bands as well as colored gemstone jewelry, pearls, gold, and silver.
I have attached a few pictures of the front of the building as well as the showroom. I invite you to drop by and visit us for a tour. We still do watch battery replacement, ring sizing, chain repair, custom jewelry, and all of our other services that we have offered our client’s in Abingdon for over 27 years. My hours are the same, 9AM until 6PM Monday through Saturday, closed on Sunday.
